Blue Plaque Treasure Hunt
Have you ever noticed these blue plaques around Oxford? I saw one the other week on the High Street which told me that a famous marmalade maker, Mrs Cooper, had lived there.
There are plaques in Oxford but also in Abingdon and other surrounding towns and villages, celebrating the achievements of different people and marking the place where they once lived. Your challenge this afternoon as you go for exercise, is to find two blue plaques and to find out about the people they remember.
If you want a map to help you find the treasure, this link will help you:
For a bonus: Can you find the plaque which celebrates an event which happened exactly 66 years ago? And for an extra bonus, can you explain what its connection is with our school boat?
